Flat bottom steel silo brief
Flat bottom steel silo (also known as flat bottom steel silo, silo) generally uses steel silo to store bulk grain and other materials. Large capacity storage is a typical feature of this type of storage volume grain storage silos 39 m3 to 29726 m3. These granaries stand on flat or cone-shaped concrete foundation and store a large amount of grain, seeds, particles and particle products for a long time.

Which one is best, flat bottom steel silo or hopper bottom steel silo?
The diameter of hopper bottom steel silo is no more than 10ms and the capacity is no more than 1500tons. The size of hopper bottom steel silo is depend on the natural flow angle of the storing material. That is to say, the smaller the natural flow angle of the material, the greater the height of the hopper bottom. Normally, the natural flow angle of many material is general 40 degrees, such as grain and other material. When the steel silo has alarge diameter, the upper beam of the foundation support structure will have to be greatly increased.
Let’s see this example. A hopper bottom steel silo with the diameter of 15m, in order to support the silo and meet the requirements of the equipment under the silo, the height of the upper ring beam of the foundation support structure should be at least 8m. compared to the same capacity of a flat bottom silo, the basic cost of hopper bottom silo is more than 40% than hopper bottom silo.
In a word, the capacity is no more than 1500tons,the hopper bottom steel silo maybe the best choose. If the capacity is more than 1500tons,you can choose flat bottom steel silo.
